Description
Students will using their emergent writing skill to correspond with a pen pal at a long term care facility. Director of care facility will visit the classroom to explain to students about what the long term care facility provides to it's residents. Director will provide information for long term care patients willing to have a pen pal. A business partner from an art school, store or center will visit the classroom to show students how to make paper. Students will make their own paper. Students will then write back and forth with their pen pals. Teacher and Long term care facility could set up a plan to drop off letters to avoid the cost of using the mail or teacher can use the mailing system.
