In multi-grade groups, students will create new percussion instruments and compose 16 measure, 4 count/measure musical examples that incorporate their newly created instruments. Then these students will perform their compositions and describe their creative process. These performances will be recorded and used as the "music" for a tinikling unit. Tinikling is a traditional dance from the Phillipines.

The local music retailer rep and the 2 local professional musicians will be able to provide input as the students develop their instruments and compose their selections.
