"Bloom Where You Are Planted"
Project Generator
Description
Students will be given a task to design a small greenhouse to be placed in our outdoor courtyard to observe and document the life cycle stages of plants. Throughout the process, professionals from the Bonnie Plant Farm will discuss the different aspects that need to be considered when developing an environment suitable for growing plants. Students will also be given the opportunity to visit the Bonnie Plant Farm to observe and discuss growing conditions. Students will work in teams to create a design. They will be given supplies to make a prototype. The prototypes will be displayed in the courtyard. Students will be given a journal to document their findings, throughout the duration of the project. This project will address the life science standard: 3-LSI-1(Develop models to describe that organisms have unique and diverse life cycles, but all have a common birth, growth, reproduction, and death).
